HUD releases Request for Information (RFI) on new Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP).

On Monday, September 26, 2022, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) posted a Request for Information (RFI) in the Federal Register, on a new Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP).

As part of the Inflation Reduction Act, HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing received $1 billion in funding for a new Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP). When implemented, the GRRP may include multiple rounds of funding availability to support energy and water efficiency retrofits and climate resilience of HUD-assisted multifamily properties.

HUD is seeking input on several components of the design and implementation of the program, as well as on the best methods for utility benchmarking. Information provided in response to this RFI will inform HUD’s development and implementation of this program.

Comments are requested on or before October 27, 2022, using the instructions in the RFI.
